Rolled up the road toward the shannon ridge trailhead until the snow stopped us (about 1/2 mile from TH). From there carried skis for a ways (2 mi, 1.5 mi?) before skinning up to the rolling ridge line just below the notch that leads up to  the sulphide. camped here with great views of baker and lots of sunshine. Skinned up to the notch and got a few turns in on saturday. Got up early the next morning to get more solid conditions and to hopefully beat the incoming sunday weather. Left camp about 5.30 am and made our way up onto the sulphide. High clouds made for a grey day but we could still see quite far with great views. The fact that the summit pyramid didn't yet have clouds on it kept us moving. By later in the morning though, we found ourselves at the point where the route from the white salmon comes up onto the sulphide, and could see clouds moving in from the west and dropping down on us. Skid down with fast frozen show higher up, and slushy corn lower down. Enjoyed the soft warm snow all the way down as the weather moved in and we switched to hiking on dirt. Definitely motivated to go back and stand on the pyramid, but it was great to make some turns and spend some time on the spectacular sulphide and make it to the car right as the weather was really rolling in.

p.s. we found a random sleeping bag and coat in the wooded slope area just a short ways up the slope from the old clearcut, anyone missing some gear?
