The road was blocked by snow 2.6 miles from the trailhead. The first 1.3 miles were a ski carry with the remaining 1.3 skiable. The weather and snow conditions were Ok. It was a warm, misty 50 degrees all day. The lack of a hard freeze overnight made for mushy snow, but not too bad (about 4-6 inches of penetration with a firm base.) Despite the mush, it skied great. Since visibility was deteriorating we skipped out on our S. Ingall's plan and just skied Fortune. Given how quickly the snow was melting out, I am not sure how long this area will be skiable. The snowpack up high seemed thinner than I remember from previous springs. Here is a quick video:
