Cooler weather, more breeze, and wider skis made for better skiing today than Thursday.  We found 2-3" butter on firm base everywhere except for due north slopes where there was a crust covering 10" of unconsolidated snow, which needed lightfooted speedy skiing to stay afloat.  Ominous gray weather moving in on Mt Rainier through the afternoon.  Nice gathering for beer and brats at the pass apres ski where we learned that SE slopes had nice corn before mid day.

Joedabaker and I did Cayuse to Crystal. Chute to Deadwood Lakes( that sucker is steep) was perfect corn.
Long climb to col at Crystal peak and then dropped old slide path on smooth corn to Crystal Lakes.Big cornices ..be careful.
Last climb to 3way col and found our only slush of the day at top of 3way exit chute but a quick traverse right onto 3way apron yielded perfect hero corn down to flats. Left at 11 am, got to Crystal Patio by 4:30Pm.

Conditions and corn was superb.

Thanks Joe for a great tour.
