After not having skied in over 5 years, I was wondering how much of my skill I had lost.  I happened to drive across Loveland Pass, CO and found a few areas for making some turns.  My biggest issue was the altitude, 11,990 feet and up.  Previously, I never had issues with altitude, but I guess living in Florida the last four years and never venturing above 300 feet above sea level has made me have to acclimate.

The skiing itself was patchy in areas with other areas of sustained vertical of about 300-500 feet.  There is one section of sustained snow where you can park at the summit, hike about 200 vertical feet above the parking area and ski down to a point lower down the highway.  They had received about 3 inches of fresh snow over the weekend which as turned into a near perfect corn consistency.  I give the area about a couple more weeks of being worthwhile for skiing/boarding.
