Gotta say today was a really really big spring fun sunny day! A little firm on the shady groomers/slopes up high early, but pretty much everything else was getting nice and sweet by 9:30. Front side of REX was a blast from the Doors I did to Memorial. Big run of the day was Upper E (lazy man entrance) down the Gondy line (!) to Lower E – worth at least the two times I did it and the second time with Spouse #1 was a kick – her first time down the Gondy line. Probably even worth a lot more based on the other Amigos on the mountain today and I’m sure if we got a report from them it would confirm it. Lots of Hawaii shirts and funny weird outfits, some nice skin, lots of very happy folks screaming down the slopes. Nice quality snow, not to sticky, but was getting a little grabby in places late, last run down Stump Farm was still easy carving and not to sticky. Any where totally smooth was big fun. Perfect spring day, please give me more. Didn’t check personally but heard the soups were Potato and Harvest Mushroom. Patrol was taking down lots of hardware across the mountain today. No lift lines but there were cars in B and C lots. Yee Haa, I don’t want to quit when it is this nice and easy. Sorry hiker crowd.

You bet cha it was good early and it was corn everywhere. Skied lucky short early on sweet corn with my HS Sweetheart and a few laps on 9 with my Grand kids from Anacortes. SWEET, life is good. The traffic up at Mt Top is full of old mountain kindred spirited type folks, next time you see an old person shuffling along to gaze at the Big R, stop in respect, just might be an 90 year old former patroller from Baker, like I met today. she skied powder that was deep in "Bear Trap" I see gear whores all the time (self included) and think we are standing on the shoulders of our past. if you have two pairs of ski's you have one too many. the quiver is dead. Just ski it with what you got. by the way she called the Whitaker's twins, boys!!!!!!! She was a gem and had that look of a mountain person, she was just basking in the light of the mountain, not ponding down PBR's to be cool. you could tell she was the real deal and I took her in to the P Room to meet Lisa P, they chatted like they knew each other, they are kindred spirit's and I knew it.

And another opinion I glad to post - From CD: "One of the best Spring days I've had. Upper to lower E worth three round trips. Front side was just going off, especially where it was smooth slushy corn snow allowing very high speeds top to bottom. Also, an extra surprise was Bear Pits between the slides and out the creek. Way fun day and nice to see some skin on the mountain. Snorting Elk was closed because of…snorting elks."

Another very late confirmation. I couldn't believe how much fun I had! It's a tough choice but it looks like my yard work is going to suffer.
