great conditions up at mt. baker. 2" of fresh fell on thurs morning and skies cleared for the afternoon/evening. three parties skied from the top. one pgs(?) team skied the park headwall in what looked to be perfect pow conditions, zack (great to see you again) and friends shredded the cd in late afternoon corn while gorp and i skied the coleman headwall in conditions ranging from ice up high, breakable in the middle to pow down low. we skied at 1:30 and probably should have waited for it to soften up. three bergshrunds to cross and the second one won't last for much longer as we broke away most of the connecting snow. the lower bergshrund will be a jumper pretty soon as well.

Great to run in to you again Todd. I think you may have meant to have May 10/11 as the dates. We skied from the summit at about 2:30 after a 1.5 hour shoes off break/nap on the windless warm summit. The Roman HW skied great as well with soft snow on the skiers left to the col then perfect 2" pow over a edgable firm layer back to the Black Buttes. Heliotrope and Grouse Creek were perfect corn all the way to the drainage flats. The C/D route is in great shape for car to car skiing. We were able to get to about 1.5 miles from the trailhead with a high clearance vehicle. Continuous snow from there. Crazy quiet days on the hill considering how good it was, where is everybody?
