An early start for Jim Hill, but not early enough, for today's heat. On the road by 0615, early enough to see that big moon setting over Mission Ridge.
But by the time we were at the gate at Henry Creek it was already soft in the trees. We made good time, and were through the dog hair thicket in good fashion.
Just as we crossed the first open slope, a cornice failed and sent a torrent of snow and debris shooting off the ridge, it had run already, but it sure reminded us to beware. By the time we made the summit ridge it was very warm and the snow was quickly turning into mush.
With fantastic views in every direction, we had a leisurely lunch before we started down.
The first 1000 or so was not too bad, but by 1500 it was pay attention time, fun, but tiring.
A wonderful day to be skiing, but I think I will have to set my alarm clock for 0330 to get the corn in this warm weather.

If you get up at 3:30 for a second run, count me in. That looks like a great ski!
Nice moon photo too.
