Last Sunday was so good we had to return for more today.   Fresh snow above 4500' made for grainy butter skiing on south slopes mid day 7000'- 5500' and slightly grabby wet fresh on west slopes around 2pm 7000-4500'.  Hard freeze required most of us to use ski crampons climbing up west facing shady slopes from 5000' at 1030AM.
Very enjoyable day, good conditions and company.

BTW -- if anybody finds a Scarpa "F1" shim on the lower part of the road -- I offer a six pack of beer of choice or other beverage as a reward

It was nice out there. Bummer to come back to the big city.

Great to see/meet everyone up there on Sunday.  John and I were the first group of two to leave the summit and descend down the west side.  For our last run we skied over to the other side of the basin up Mary (? sorry, don't know the names) and straight down the large slide path to the creek which worked out great for an exit.  I have never skied in the area before, for one reason or another always touring somewhere else in the spring, but was impressed with the ski terrain.  It's less rugged then most other places in the Cascades, but covered in beautiful 30-40 degree slopes everywhere you look.
