Looking for sunshine east of the crest, and a place less traveled, SteveP ralleyed GregW, MarkB, MikeG and I for a trek up and over Stevens Pass to yonder Mt Mastiff. The road is clear to one mile shy of the Merrit lake Trail head. From the trailhead it was mixed snow and bare patches for the first 750-1000 V, then continuous snow...though lots of needles in the woods. Upper Mastiff was good 'almost corn' skiing that became the seasonal heavy schmoo lower down. Merrit and Lost Lakes still well frozen. All told 6100 V and 12.5 miles. The only disappointment was to find Zekes already closed!

Did you guys stay on the ridge all the way or drop down to Lost Lake? We couldn't pass up skiing to the lake on the way in when we did it.
