kayak rack stolen at Paradise was created by skipole
The kayak rack was stolen off my car in the Paradise parking lot last Saturday, 3/6. I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask since so many who post here were at Paradise. If anyone saw someone take off a kayak rack from a car (or took it yourself) please let me know.

That's a bummer.
I've never heard of anything being stolen from the Paradise parking lot before. Did you report it to the Park Service?

I was there as a park volunteer doing nordic patrol. I could have taken a gov't truck but for logistical reasons didn't. Rangers have been notified.

You'd be surprised at how much illegal activity goes on in the park.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Our of curiosity, what brand/model of rack was it? Did it have locks on it?

Yakima. These are the rollers and flat pieces that the kayak rests on, not the bars/ towers. There's no locking mechanism for what was taken although someone could probably rig up something.

That's very bad Karma for whoever did the deed! If he is reading this forum.... I suggest he reconsider what he did to himself.
