(Modified) April 27, 2012, Slot freshies

As they say, the devil is in the details. I posted April 28 in the OP. Hope this did not cause any confusion.

Four of us headed up to do a Crooked / Slot Combo early Friday. With the forcasted 2-3 inches of new we thought we would have fun sluffy turns in the Coolies. Instead we found 8-10" of new up high with some wind effects near the summit. We decided not to attempt the crooked due to highly reactive snow. We ski cut the top of the slot roped up and cleaned it out a bit. Then dropped in for a fun run. The first man down got most of the goods taking much of the new snow with him. The rest of us got mixed ice/powder turns till lower down. The apron was great, Powder!!! I even heard "face shot" getting thrown around, not bad for late April.  We did a few laps on the terrain between Snoqualmie Mt. and Chair peak harvesting any and all pow we could find. Skied down to Alpental B/C return trail around 1:30 with large slow moving snow monsters following us all the way down.
