Here are some pics from Chair Peak lake on Saturday March 6.  Georges Yates and I were attempting to circumnavigate Chair with Luna the dog.  We were able to start skiing at the saddle above Snow Lake.

Down the lake was crust over sluch but skiable.  We skated the lake, nervously, and hugged the shore for most of the way.  At the West end of the lake, the ice appeared stronger.  It was probably all ok, but the thought of breaking through was scary.

On reaching the end we climbed well-covered slopes up to the pass above Chair Peak lake.  Looking over to Melakwa lake we were disappointed to see insufficient snow to ski.  Rather than hiking all the way to Pineapple pass, we turned around and had a great run back down to Snow Lake.

In celebration of his 40th birthday and his upcoming
trip to the Haute Route in France, I engraved a SIGG bottle my wife and I found on the Haute Route three years ago with a picture of Mt. Ranier and Mt. Ellinor in the Olympics (one of our favorite ski tours).

Happy birthday Bruderstink!

Have a great ski with the Frenchies!  Pete
Where are the pics?
