I'd never been up there this early in the season. There was so much snow we were pretty much able to make a stright line to the top so we made excelent time and were at the rim in four hours from the parking lot.  There was a nice breeze about midway to keep us cool in the sun and a stiff wind at the top.  The spindrift coming from the crater was hypnotizing to watch as we climbed.  Great 3 or 4 inches of snow to start, consolidated breakable in the middle, and pretty much corn the rest of the way down.  Great views and good turns.

Those blue shades are hot!  Would match my wife's outfit well - I'll be on the lookout.
