April 14, Rock Mountain, Stevens Pass

Had a nice weather window Saturday morning to get in a tour before partaking in the Stevens "closing" weekend activities. Nice spring like conditions on Rock. 2 hours up, .5 hour down.  Did a little bit of booting on way to expedite some steep melted out terrain and again to gain summit ridge. On the ski down we enjoyed nice windpack powder in summit area that quickly turned to creamy goodness for most of the ski down until we hit the lower parts of the mountain where we found interesting boot top mank that made every turn just a little bit of extra effort. Skis on summit to car.  Melting out fast.  Back to R.V. lot at Stevens with time to spare to get the BBQ hot before the better halves returned from the morning ski at the area. Rest of weekend was a little bit hazy.
