Yesterday I took a tour around the boundary of the ski area, and encountered some interesting conditions. I was on a north aspect, the slope was nearly flat, and as I skied out into an area perhaps 75 yards across the whole thing collapsed. Turns out there was a layer of transformed snow at the base of the pack. I was not really expecting to find this, I should have had a look in another spot or two , but did not. I'm no expert or anything, but some of you who are make use of this information.
