WA Cascades West Slopes North (Mt Baker)

Our group of five took a short tour into the Mt. Baker backcountry today.
The snow was heavy and wet, the skiing, well hey you take what you can get... We did find some good turns in a few places and practiced the skill of riding the planks through a trough of mashed potatoes in others...

Saw some of ski-cut wet sluffing on steeper slopes and lots of pin wheels. Instability and the wet, heavy snow sent us packing sooner than normal.
It was super to get back to Baker after several years of staying south of 542. Mt. Baker itself remained shrouded in clouds all day, while Shuksan and the mountains further north provided a spectacular backdrop to the tour.
You bellinghamsters have a real gem going for you in that bc... We should only be so lucky here in the jet city.
