Big blue holes opened up in the sky for our crack of noon start up the north slopes of Hyak.  There was an inch of settled new snow on a fairly smooth base, two Snoqualmie school marms halfway up the hill ahead of us, Tim and Sandy half a hill behind us.  Nice buttery slush skiing (does that make any sense?) on both the south facing slope and the north.  Dag and his wife joined us on the second lap, as well as John.  Views of surrounding peaks got better and better during our three hour afternoon visit.  Nice cool spring day.

Missed you Silas. We did the 9:30-1 shift. Not too hard crust early with just enough top dressing to carve -- sun softened up all morning with best snow around noon.

Saw lots of tracks up there.  We started up a few minutes before 6PM.  One backside run.  The front side had set up a bit on our descent at dusk.

Glad you got some of the sun too! One question though, were the "School Marms" Women or girls? :)

When you get to be Silas's age, they are all girls
