Headed up to the ridge on a glorious day. There was more snow lower down the road than I think even last year.

Temp at 9:30 AM at 5000 feet was 24 degrees. There was at least two feet of nicely settled, right-side-up powder as the surface layer; no buried sun crusts or rain crusts to be found so it seemed like the day to ski some of the steeper N and NW shots off sunrise ridge.

They all skied great, with just very minor sluffs on the steepest lines down "avalanche".

It was also great to make some turns with the local ranger!

It was a stellar day up there today!

Our group headed out the the Hill and we enjoyed similar conditons on north slopes, about two feet of dense powder. Intermittent sun and clouds in the afternoon resulted in about 1/4 inch of breakable crust on southerly aspects.
