AP, Jessica and I went to the Kendall area yesterday to see what we could find.  Nasty, heavy mush with a rain crust in the top 6 inches persisted up to about 4,000 feet, but above that was some excellent heavy powder.  Lightly snowing most of the day, though it was 36 degrees at the car when we left at 3.  The top 6 inches of saturated snow didn't react much in a pit test, but I managed to cut the whole mess loose a couple of times into a slow wet slide on steeper pitches, which built up some good mass pretty quick.  Good day, with some character-building skiing out to the car.

Hi Marcus, I wonder if that heavy powder turned into our frozen soft styro base yesterday with 8 to 10 of new on top up at Jim Hill?  I have been finding it challenging to glean conditions at one pass from a previous experience at the other.  At least this winter by the way storms track.
Thanks,
John
