took a weekend off from the cave (mainly due to predicted warm temps and precip) but couldn't bear to take a weekend off from steven's pass! i managed to convince scott to head up to skyline/heather ridge for some easy roadside access. we explored around a bit, i made note of some nice features to revisit on some sunny photo-shoot day, we tired out the dog and then went back for a 4th lap. all good, all pow, and i dare say it was nice to end the day with a beer at the van instead of a 4 mile skin in the dark.
nice start to the morning.
scott fails to outrun his dog, kololo.
stopping for a dew in the rime cave.
mr alecapone is hard to recognize in a helmet.

I noticed the helmet in the 2nd photo---pretty classy headgear for a skybum.
Not only the helmet, but looks like Scott is using real gloves, like gortex ones?! must be from all that cave dwelling. What's next? A Patagonia puffer?
Great call Ben. Thanks for dragging me out and for the delicious mt dew. Cold, refreshing... do the dew.
Funny John, but you know me better. Those are army surplus mittens I bought in the mitten shaped state over ten years ago. $5 + snow seal. I just picked up a puffy on clearance at fred meyer. 30$ to go with my 20$ vest.
Tecnnically, the helmet is the biggest dollar item on my person, but it's for my girl. Glad you guys like it? I'm renting space on it for a go pro to cut expenses.
