Very nice 14" light (Utah) powder between 5400'-4000'. The supporting crust was noticeable on traverses. North slopes over 30 degrees produced soft slides easily especially when traversing out of the fall line, so we stayed on lower angle terrain except for a couple steep sections with short runouts.
We heard the old crust under the 14" new snow was rutted and tricky in areas that were popular over the weekend. We did not find any ruts, maybe we were in spots that did not attract the weekend crowd?
