FEB 2012, Columbia Mountains BC, Fairy Meadow Hut

4 feet of snow fell with the storm cycle that we arrived during.  First 3 days were dumping, so we stayed in the trees, lower slope angle and felt are way around the snow pack.  As our confidence in the snow pack grew, the increased visibility afforded us getting up to friendship col, ascents of Sentinal Peak and long lines of deep powder.  The avy conditions could not have been better.  Bluebird powder days finished out the week.  Despite years of living in SLC, tours in Europe, AK and years living in the PNW this was the best 6 days of skiing I have had the luck of having.  The Hut is comfortable, sauna is luxury and location is ideal.
