Feb 24th - Alpental
« on: 02/24/12, 08:22 PM »

Sleeper day at Alpy today.
Nash gate opened at about 11:00am.
rolled about 6 laps, never any lines and few people on the hill.
The snow was velvet and stuck to everything.

On the way out to big trees discovered a 3' crown on the North side of the knoll just past Unicorn,
skied around to the top of Orbit bowl and found an 4~5' crown.
Looks like these were both from Tuesday given the snow accumulation on the bed.
It shed right down to Thursday/Fridays crust.
The debris field was pretty astounding, running into the right side of Big Trees, and all the way to the bottom, just short of the trail out.
In 20 years of skiing the Alpy BC, I've yet to see a flush this extensive back in this area.

Thanks for the report. Was over at Acres with my learning wife and it was soggy. Was the snow good out the Nash gate today like it was yesterday out E gate??
