If you don't mind skiing on snow-dusted boulders, then yes! I was a bit astonished at how rocky the Nisqually valley above the bridge looked last Sunday. It could probably use at least an additional 3+ feet of cover to make the skiing worthwhile.
--Chris

A trip down from the glacier to the bridge would probably be a doable trip on a D-9 Catapillar.
Serioulsy, the river and all the rocks are visible under a thin layer of snow (2 to 6 inches?) all the way up to the snout of the glacier. Not a pretty sight.
It looks better than that above Paradise, but, nonetheless, a dismal snow year. We're crossing our fingers for dumpage in March & April though, eh?

I've been thinking about this too. Anyone know how far up the south climb road you can get right now (without a monster truck or sled)? Last report from GP NF is from 1/04.On the other hand Mt. Adams might be in.....

Check out this thread about Adams access

My thoughts have drifted that way at times, too, but after skiing the higher elevations of Muir on Friday, I wonder if it would even be worth the drive/slog. Anyone have any thoughts? ???
