Went for a tour up Alpental Valley and into Great Scott Bowl. The valley floor is seriously lacking snow, however we only had to take off our skis once at the beginning.
Conditions varied significantly depending on the aspect. In certain spots, the surface hoar crystals were huge! The upper portion of Great Scott Bowl itself was a pretty good ski, although a bit bony. Lower down the bowl, a wind crust was starting to develop. However, once we got into No Fog the overall quality of the snow was excellent all the way down to Source Lake.
