3 of us skinned up to Silver Peak basin expecting it to warm up, and thinking maybe some powder in north facing basin. Neither happened. Stayed breezy and cold. Snow was sculpted 1 inch soft wind slab most areas on solid base, with a band of icy up in the bowl. Zero to an inch of ski penetration. A couple of hours of skinning up for a few careful turns down, and then I did find some thick powder in the trees east side of basin that was so unexpected I promptly fell over. Nice day to be out in the sun, never got gloppy, and got home in time for Madonna and the second half of the other bowl.
