Feb 6, Chair peak vicinity

After a few day of harvesting great leftovers on North facing slopes around lake Josephine South of Stevens Pass, I wanted to check out what conditions were like around Snoqualmie Pass. Arrived at Alpental at leasurly 10:30 start time.  Headed up to N.E notch on Chair Peak. Conditions were pretty grim above Source lake and in the Chair Peak basin. Tracks going every which way from the weekend had frozen over leaving a mess. Wind was blowing pretty good at the notch where I watched 4 climbers start their ascent up Chair Peak. I skied down the gully system to N.E. of the notch and found fun, smooth, edgable wind pack all the way down to Snow Lake. Was my first time down that way and I liked it.  Easy climb out of the basin then a crappy ski to source lake led me to my car in just under 3 hours,  just in time to miss Seattle traffic.
