Baffled about where to go, we chose a location that required minimal flat approach and easy exit if it was awful. We were pleasantly surprised by 8-12" nice soft powder on wind protected NW slopes 5200-4200'. Of course, under the trees were crunchy craters, and at 11AM any shift toward west provided a crust from the past two days of sun. A couple hours later Mr Sun had melted the crustiness and there was reasonable soft wet skiing on top of 6" powder. Occasional (thankfully not more) snow globbing on skins. Beautiful views of Rainier, Baker, Glacier peaks and lots more.
Roaring Ridge was good as well, albeit the longer flat approach. Powder was found from 2,900 - ridgetop with random wind affect on more easterly exposures.

Zipper? If you don't mind me asking. Thanks, John
