January 26-27, 2012, Methow

Two great days of skiing, the sun was out from time to time, but it was cold, and the snow was lite and nice.  On the 26th there was a fair amount of wind and it was defiantly moving the snow around, but we were able to find great skiing.  We were on some fairly steep terrain, but there was no sign of instability.  Ski penetration was around 20/ 24 inches and it made for some heavy work pushing up a skin track, but we were four, and three of the four were tough as nails.  Day two was much like the first but colder,  temps were in the 7deg. F. range warming to 15 or so and thankfully no wind.  We made two laps, and had another wonderful day.    Sad to say the fun may be over for awhile, as it warmed up even at the higher elevations.  Dinner at East 20 Pizza, and School House Brewery both great places to have a beer and get something to eat.
