Jan 29th Crystal

Joedbaker was right...rain and not busy.
Late start due to certain members of the posse being hydrophobic but once we got going it was schmoooy fun. Stayed on the steeper stuff and away from the groomers, Banana Chute and Employee Housing top to bottoms and it skied just fine.  Most of the time we were the only skiers in sight.
Took the gals down Employee for their first time and that was fun and challenging for them.
Skied with my son and that's always a treat.

I think I prefer rain to crowds although we skied yesterday when it was busy and toured off the backside all day to avoid the crowds . The snow was buckle grabbing and the rising temps changed the snow very quickly to mush. Trees were dripping and every turn setting off big rollers although none of my ski cuts could get much to move.

How was PB and M world ? Mandatory to include in all reports. Please be mindfulful of the duties and responsibilities. It would certainly be remiss to leave out parking and soups. After a quick week at W World in the frozen North, home of Captn Pow and Ozzie days it sounds like I left the best at home. eh ? 20cm and 90k wind was enough to keep the alpine closed 3 out of 5 days. Amazing how uncrowded CM is compared to that place.

Never go to PB and rarely ski M world...sorry! and I always park in upper Lot C with the backcountry elite. Had a bite of my son's toasted cheese sandwich from the lower lodge......3/8" of slabby Velvetta.....God, you American's should be ashamed of calling that cheese...crime against humanity IMO!

Ha Ha.  But what was the parkin like? Since I' m not BCE type I would have been stuck down in the part time lot.  Cam looked good early and very empty most of the day. Sounds like off groomers will be somewhat lumpy in the near future.   W is a nasty place before april - telus thats the time to go, or May.

How's Mission skiing Aaron. We're thinking of calling in and skiing with ya on our way to Mazama with the sleds.

It's been great, coverage is solid everywhere. Unfortunately with the warming this weekend and now cooling it will be like last time you were here unless it snows again. Maybe some refreshing snow this week or mild temps and sunshine toward the weekend will be nice.
