Couple shots from a fun/long day in the Baker backcountry yesterday.  Ran into all sorts of conditions ranging from pow to manky/hard avi debris.  The latter was made significantly more challenging given we skied it in the dark after a route finding mishap late in the day.  Burger month at Boomer's (bbq burger + swiss bacon burger + waffle fries) rounded out a great day.

Pillows!
Killer shots!

Thanks for posting!

Sweet photos!  In the first skier action shot, is that a small avy crown in the near background?
Or is it a traversing ski track that brushed a bit of rock? What's the story?
-tx for the good post-

Good eye Silas.  It's a small ~4" or so crown likely from wind loading on lee slopes (ridges were pretty scoured in places).  This was a reasonably common site throughout the day, with no larger instabilities witnessed.

I'm jealous. Well done.

Looks like Anderson Creek in the background. What was the ski out to the highway like at the bottom? Was there enough snow?

Gulp....

Cougars like deep pow? My biggest fear in the BC is now going to keep me spooked to a much higher elevation thanks...

Although South in leavenworth was loaded with cougars yesterday. John and I where lucky to get out unscathed.

Nice looking trip guys!

and psst, Silas has nice eyes too, but that's Mack...
