A great link to the TR.  It's intersting to see the lake side of The Watchman and Hillman Peak. Having skied the opposite side and looking down to the lake.  Wink

Awsome sunrise.

<< The route follows Rim Drive, the road around the lake, making the circumnavigation 31 miles long. Most people take 3 days to do the trip. Cross-country ski racers complete the route in under 8 hours.>>

A few yrs ago, I was all set to take two days, but as I stopped to get my permit, annother party mentioned skiing it in one go - by the light of the full moon.  Brilliant!
I dumped lots of gear and then chased after them.  I did bring a stove for hot drinks and meals.  One of the more memorable skiis of my life!
