A fine day at Mt. Baker. Just under the knee thick and creamy powder. Still nice pockets by late afternoon. Chair 6 was down until about 1030 due to mechanical. Another mad/fun opening when it did open.
They bombed the Arm, which only happens a couple times a year. It is technically wilderness and they need a special permit. Nothing big came down, when asked, patrol mentioned concern over a layer buried 7 ft. down. If they get that to rip, I would call it a bit of a crown line, yikes!
Just the same, a number of folks out on the arm by the afternoon sunbreaks. Canyon never opened, patrol reportedly waiting for track/action on hemispheres to clear out the hangfire.
Man, I love that ski hill, if only they had a cleaner fall line for sweeping tele turns. Place was "built" for snowboard/new school.
Sorry, this should be in Lift Access, mods, please move if you get the chance.

Glad to see you're still skiing and not working. Jill put in a good word for you with your mom at Stevens yesterday. ;)
It sounds like the layer 7 ft. down may be the pre-MLK January crust. On the arm a slide that big would be horrific at best... glad to see they're ontop of it.
