West-facing trees between 3600-4600 skied well today at the pass.  Some tree bombing, but still smooth.  Skied like styrofoam with a few inches of cold smoke on top.  Wind was howling above 4500', forming the beginnings of some fresh slab even in the trees.

Didn't venture onto any open slopes, but still was able to get some cracking by stomping around on steeper rolls, although couldn't get anything to move.  Yesterday's dense snow over lighter snow from earlier in the week seemed to be the culprit.

It was snowing hard all the way down to exit 38 when we left at noon.
Good to run into you again Andrew.
we stayed a little longer until exhaustion and the wind drove us down one last time. Skied some steeper lines and couldn't get anything to move except sluffage (or sloughage..? (the adult spelling))  Good to get out and sweat in the snow... a nice break from my lift bound posse of six year olds, and seven year old charge - fine skiers all of them.
Lots of people out, more skiers than snow shoers, a pleasant inverse ratio, especially when bombing back down the trail...
