January 18, 2012, East Cherry Street Laps

Skiing down the driveway for a second time this week, I stopped first at the Spring Street sledding hill. Few dozen kids with sleds, snowboards, and skis, with a decent kicker in the line. But, I broke trail for a neighbor, leading us further south for a more true back country of the back side of East Cherry Street. Here, it was quieter, the run steeper, and the snow more consistent. After five leisurely laps, we noticed the conditions deteriorate to hold more moisture, and a rain crust was developing on the slog home.
I guess that's why they called school off for a second day for tomorrow. I'd rather not ski streets again, so PM me if you are heading out to the hills.

Awesome Jess -- love it.
Lucky u, using the dh boards! Edmonds road crews sprayed too much gravel, so slid the hills on streets using the beater xc gear. Still fun to zip down faster than the cars. More tomorrow, except more like World Cup courses with the injected ice...
Beautiful turns. Looks like you timed it right!
