January 18, 2012, Discovery Park Meadow Skip

Jen and I broke out the meadow skipping gear for a surprisingly skiable lunch time loop around north magnolia and discovery park today, climbing the maintenance road behind the visitor center to the top of the hill, playing around in the meadow and finishing by skiing out to the bluffs and through the woods back to the main entrance near our house:

We saw several other skiers and found acceptable coverage on roads, the large sloped meadow near the radio tour and many of the paths through the woods. We also spent awhile attempting ro remember how to tele  (after a couple of years mostly on dynafits) on a steep neighborhood alley. Objective hazards include lumps of grass, sledders, dog walkers and half buried steps in the trail but I recommended this tour if you can get there before it melts.
