January 16, 2012, Stevens Pass

Great skiing in the Stevens Pass area, 20 something inches of nice cold snow.  Stayed to lower angle terrain for the most part.  A few quick checks along the way showed  fair bonding in some places, and not so good in others.  Talked to one party that traveled into higher terrain and noted some wind transport, we were stopping about 5300 or so and there was an uncomfortable breeze blowing from the west moving snow around, everything we skied was unconsolidated.  One pass made above a steeper face produced some settling, but did not release, we retreated.  All in all a great day of turns, nicest quality snow of the season for me.
