Dec 14, 2011, Bryant Peak Col

Nice conditions for a quick hit on Bryant Peak.  2-6 inches of re-crystalized snow on the crust layers and wind transport made for some localized 4-6 inch windslabs on lee slopes (mostly N/NW).  Great coverage for the snowpack and enjoyed the views.  First time down the N/NW chute into Source Lake.  Choke point a little sporty, but overall a wonderful experience.  Snowpit at looker left of shoulder underneath Bryant notch (5,400ft, North, 38 degrees).  The first picture is the SE upper basin of East Summit of Chair Peak.  Beautiful large bench up there.  Anyone know if there's uninterrupted skiable snow to Source from it?
