Had a good day exploring close by. Went up commonwealth for a quick lap. We followed the well trodden PCT for a while, but quickly cut off to continue up the ridge for some steep tree skin work.
Booted the final stretch to the top of the ridge. Probably could've kept with the ski pons, but bootin was easier.
The open sections in the shade skied very nice, boot deep and light. Found a nice steep chute for some cliff work, then survived the commonwealth luge track. Surprisingly good morning, and we were back in time for afternoon christmas parties in town.

Nice day out east of the clouds.

Getting pumped for the first turn, an icy, cruddy, steep turn... good times.

Topped out at the ridgeline on the right.

Exploring lower commonwealth, looking down the fall line.

Making short work of the chute.
