This is a little late, but with the rain coming this weekend why not relive past glory?
We skinned up Shuksan Arm from the lower parking lot at the Mount Baker ski area last Sunday. We debated climbing under Chair 8 and accessing the Arm via the gate up top, but nixed that idea in favor of doing a little bushwacking. In hindsight, traveling through the ski area probably would have been quicker considering it took us 4 hours to break trail directly up the arm. I'd be interested to hear thoughts on this...
Coming down the Arm the snow was deep, stable and fun. Easily the best snow I've skied in months (if not years). Coverage was pretty good, but a few hidden rocks surprised us on the steeper aspects. Excellent conditions overall, especially for November.
