Skinned up frog buttes with new partner Rob today, more or less avoiding the expected maddness that surrounds the resorts on holiday weekends. My expectations were modest as the snow pack is thin at 4k', the starting elevation, but 6-8" of new over a firm base made for an easy climb to 5.4k'. The new over rain softened crust made for very nice turns. Stability not an issue for this trip. More terrain is opening up every week.

That's a great quick-trip idea. Might have to try and beat the rain for it in the AM.
