We found excellent early season snow conditions at Stevens today, abt 4-6 of new over a nice soft base of say 18" of windpack. We skinned up Tye Mill and over to the top of Southern Cross, making turns on both sides, and finding good snow pretty much wherever we went. Obviously thin by winter standards, and blown off the ridges to some degree, but thick enough for some nice turns.
