Started skinning from the Parking lot at Paradise by 10:00 am. There was only 3 cars in the lot at that time, which was surprising due to it being a free weekend thanks to Veteran's Day. We skinned from the parking lot with attempts to reach Muir. The skyline trail was mostly covered except for some steps up the path. Looking around on the way up appeared that skiing down would be a challenge from about 6400' and below due to low coverage. Above this point was fairly wind scoured except with some random patches of drift. The wind picked up considerably and by the time we reached pan point visibility and wind turned us back. Fortunately the 1 to 2 inches that had fallen since we started had blanketed the lower elevation slope nicely as we were able to ski down conservatively well while dodging dark patches. No rocks were hit by anyone in our party. Snow was accumulating quickly upon our departure. Sorry for the lack of pictures.
I was thinking of doing a Nordic trip on the road to Reflection Lakes this weekend. Do you think there is enough coverage over there? The nice thing about a road is that you only need a few inches, assuming they haven't plowed it.
Thanks,
Ross
Thanks,

Touring on the road shouldn't be a problem. We got 18" of snow out of this storm (on top of 7" previous), and it's still coming down. And they're not plowing it.
Excellent! Thank you very much for the info.
