Hopes were up for fresh powder from the overnight telemetry. Left the cars around 930am with a dozen other TAY enthusiasts including one sponsored athlete who had no problem setting a brisk pace despite only two hours sleep. Conditions were nice and soft to about 8000', then sadly glistening ice by 9000'.

Having been spoiled by perfect conditions last Tuesday, most of our group stopped for lunch and skied down from there. Zach had missed a couple weeks skiing and had a new pair of TLT5 Performance boots to christen so he gritted his teeth and skinned on to Muir without crampons!  We spotted a fellow on DPS Wailers, scary ski for the ice I'd say, yikes.

Skiing was ok from 8000'-7000' but we are all ready for some of that deep powder we have seen at this fall's round of slider films.   Only one of us got a face shot today, and it was quite painful.
Not quite like last Tuesday, but still a great day :)

Here are a few more photos from the day...

Interesting day, the only reason I made it to Muir without crampons was that I was too intimidated to transition to downhill mode on the glacial ice above Anvil rock so I kept moving to a flat spot. Kyle, I owe you a beer or two.
