Yesterday I skied the Coleman Demming route on Mt. Baker. The suncups had been repaved with a smooth layer of cold, packed powder. The Roman wall was, as usual in winter (!), rimy and rough; below that, the skiing became excellent and remained so all the way down to the edge of the ice at 6,000'. A few more details can be found at my website: www.forestmcbrian.com --it could still be good for a few days!

Pretty similar on the 28th on the Squak Glacier. Some sections were purely a thick raincrust due to the wind.

Good one....

Thanks for the update....I have wanted to do an october summit for some time now...If a good weather window shows up.

Nice stuff Forest. Looks a lot different than it was just last weekend.

Mtraslin, Baker can be awesome in October! I hope it clears up in the next week or two.

socked in above 8500 today, new snow below 7000 or so was rained on hard.

Way to sample the new snow! Hope to catch up with you again this winter...

How did heliotrope look when you headed up there?
