To continue my previous thread the remainder of July was to be as good as i have ever seen around tahoe.  A lot of big peaks like Roundtop 10.4k and Red Lakes and Stevens Peaks 10k+ around Carson Pass were still top to bottom.  My little secret spot was still getting me the goods. I could actually 4 wheel in a few miles and park right at the snow line and skin up. Nothing big but enjoyable just the same

August began with a bang. I grabbed my 18 yr old daughter and we booted a nice little slope to ski.  It was her first time BC.
Proud father and daughter Aug 7th

The end of august got me this Sonora Pass

The end of august. The 28th to be exact. I was only 3 days away from my first turn ever in september. After 49 yr of skiing I was about to realize my long time skiing goal. I was only a week away. Part 3 will soon follow

Great to see your postings.  Keep them coming.

My wife,Jill, and I usually spend March, April and part of May downhill and touring in the Tahoe area and along the Eastern Sierra.  We also have passes at Kirkwood and Squaw plus Alpine Meadows.  Being retired, we have a campervan and usually stay in the area until the spring snowpack in the PNW stabilizes.

Hopefully, we'll share some turns.

TAY watchwords:
Ski early in September; it won't get any better but it'll be warm.
Ski later in October and you (might) get fresh  8)

Good advice Mack! I have my fingers crossed for a good Oct this year. The bug seems to be getting me earlier and earlier.

Hey Zap, we may have to stay in touch. I ski at sierra tahoe and heavenly and snowbird.  I have a place on ski run blvd in south lake which makes things a lot easier...jim

Sounds good.  Ski Run Blvd is an ideal location in SLT.  We've spent many a night in a casino parking lot or sno park during our stays around SLT.  We had a Heavenly pass for a few years but decided to get a Squaw pass when the new owners arrived and passes became more competitive and the Alpine Meadows rumor began circulating.  We also had a pass to Sierra at Tahoe one year while they were still affiliated with Northstar before Vail Assoc. purchased Northstar.

We usually spend some time at Brighton because we get to ski there free with our passes from a local area, The Summit at Snoqualmie.

Look forward to more postings from The Sierra.  We'll definitely plan to contact you before heading to Tahoe.
