Had a couple of dÃas alucinantes in the Termas de Chillan/Las Trancas area. Took the train down from Santiago. Affordable and comfy, highly recommended.
We skied Nevados de Huemul the first day and the next day took a little walk to some backcountry hotsprings. La vida es buena en Chillan po man.
Back in Santiago. Its raining in Farellones, and in the south too. Shit.

In 2005, Jill and I toured from the closed ski area at Las Trancas. When we returned in 2007, we rode the lifts and could see the variety of terrain nearby. We met a "guide" who said he took people on tours in the area.
Hopefully, the weather pattern will change for you.
