We were a little disappointed to see all of the dust on the upper Paradise and it did slow the skies and make the older tracks a real problem. Some of the old tracks are now raised 18" to 24" above the adjacent snow. Mark, Peter and I carefully followed tracks from the skiers that headed down 15 minutes before us so we could keep our speed up for the first 500 feet below Moon Rocks. The snow below about 8,000 just gets better and better and we eventually got some very fast turns on bona fide corn snow. Beautiful day with a nice breeze blowing across the glacier. The skinning was comfortable and we saw only 3-4 other skiers the entire day. I imagine there were a few more people on the Muir Snowfield.

We were part of the slogfest up to Muir. Hung out for a long time on Anvil savoring the views then headed down late in the day. In spite of the vertical snow textures it was mostly soft on top so fun skiing.
