Wednesday was so good, I had to get back asap.  After family obligations Wednesday and Thursday evenings, I was off this morning with the usual (for August) sunny views on the Rainier webcams.  Thanks to a breeze and cooler temperatures, today was even better!  More corny than slushy today.  Still skiable all the way to fourth crossing as long as you don't make any "wrong" turns from Mazama ridge.

The flat traversing from Paradise creek basin is perhaps not the best snowboard tour, sorry Jeremiah.   Hope the fun above and below made up for it, or maybe you will consider trying skis?  :)
Jimmy and I skied up to rocks at 7600' above Cowlitz Rocks from 4th crossing yesterday.  Be careful with the runnels on gentler terrain, we ran into a guy who'd broken a ski going across one.  Steeper slopes were good.  Saw just 6 people beyond the top of Mazama Ridge.  Car to car on snow the whole way in August!
