on: 08/12/11, 12:53 PM » After seeing oldmantex's post the other day, I had been thinking I would like to ski Spider Gap environs. Several days after his report, I climbed Seven Finger Jack and got a good look from across the valley, and it looked so good.   So the other evening I drove up and spent the night at the Phelps Cr trail head.  Over slept and did not get away till 6:30, flawless day and Spider Meadow is just coming into it's full flower glory.  Put my skis on at the toe of the Spider snow field/glacier and was on top by 12:00 as oldmantex reported it was a great ski.  It was a little mushy for the last 600 feet but a great trip.   It is definitely a long day for the turns, but such a nice place it seems all worthwhile.  P8050896-1.JPG (133.18 KB, 800x600 - viewed 535 times.)
